Here we go again...

Well, I got some DVD burning software, but the 160 Gig drive that I bought along with it was faulty. This shall postpone backing up some of our old Hi8 tapes, etc.

Too bad. The new drive should be here within the next couply weeks.

Next on our list of subjects, is Siblings.

I have two strings of ADR, one FX shot (already finished, but David needs to give it to me), a couple of sound effects, and one intro shot.

I think I can whip that out in a couple days if I coordinate things properly.

Once it's done, then I start doing special features for the DVD I guess.

Ok, New Topic.

I got an email a couple days ago from somebody I've never met.

Hi. My name is Lori and I just thought you might think it was neat that I found you on a google search. My best friend's name is Derek Newby and is an American soldier who fought with the 1st Armored Division in Iraq for 16 months. I know this doesn't have anything to do with you, but being bored on the internet one day, I just sat around and googled my friends' names and you popped up. Interesting read. Have a great day!

Lori

Thanks for the email Lori, I appreciate the time you spent, letting me know!

Alrighty folks, that's all for today!

Hello, my name is John. Remember me?

Hello there!

/echos eerily creep through the void

Didn't mean to scare yawl. Really.

I have been mowing a very large lawn, along with David and Jeff Heustis. A bit of a blast it has been, though stressful on the body. Cutting down trees, cleaning the pool (over and over again, since the pollen/seeds/whatever that falls from these trees stains the pool a brownish black), and of course, weedwacking, all while dodging red wasps and fighting horses.

Our colt, Cowboy, is a frisky sucker. Everyday when we finish the first and second laps of our run, he runs along side the fence, keeping up with us, until we pass the pasture. Then he returns to the beginning of the strip, and waits for us. Another curious habit of his is to wait for the dogs to come near the pasture, then when they do, he does the whole wild horse bit, jumping up and down, stomping, and neighing. The only thing that bothers us though, is that when you go pet him, he likes it so much, he won't let you go. He grabs onto your coat or pant leg or hair, and pulls at you. The slobber is usually green from the grass, which stains your clothing, and slobber in your hair is just gross. The only option is to break him of the habit immediately, which involves spinning around at lightning speed and smacking him on the nose, head, neck, etc.

He hurts my hand.

I'll post some random pictures of stuff eventually, but now its time to sleep. *snores *.

In the computer realm, I'm considering purchasing a GeForce 6600 GT, because Samsung said it might not be too good for my monitor.

Speaking of that, my monitor has been 'wobbling' whenever I set it to a refresh rate of higher than 60 hertz. That is painfully annoying! They said it was likely a faulty unit, but they recommended that I get a newer graphics processing unit (GPU, or Video Card), since it was manufactured before some standard of computer thingy's came out.

Basically, they said my videocard was too old, and to get a new one.

Well, I want one powerful enough to handle nice 3D transitions in my video apps (Premiere Pro's realtime preview system) but I want one that will also handle Maya relatively nicely, and I wouldn't mind one that won't be outdated before 2005 is over.

I chose the nVidia GeForce 6600 GT, because it has a nice balance of power and price. I like it's dual monitor support, which will allow me to hook up a second monitor, allowing for more room to work on pictures, edit video, etc. It's not really practical for gaming or watching movies, but fortunately, those aren't things that I tend to do really often.

I plan on getting this 200 dollar graphics card from MSI, in about two to three weeks, as a personal goal for accomplishing a list of tasks (a really long list, unfortunately), and then, YAY, a new GPU. I'm also going to get a DVD burning software and a new harddrive, dedicated solely to backing up old classics such as, 'The Miracle Man', 'The Children Story' and likely a few John Wayne movies from time to time.

Ok, new thought.

I really like the book 'Every Man's Battle'. Why? Well, it's an important book with a great message, but I also like how it doesn't get boring. It has two authors constantly switching back and forth, which I believe helps keep the book alive.

Hmm, I'll have to remember that for future book writing purposes.

Basically, this whole post is to say I'm sorry for the slow down in the internet world, but I've been so stinkin' busy, I've not been able to do more.

By the way, on that list of tasks I mentioned, I have “write another 2000 words to my story”. You know, THAT story? Yeah, THAT one.

Stay tuned!......

Or don't. Either way, enjoy yourself!!

EDIT: Ok, blogger's auto email thing isn't working, so I'm just gonna hold off on that for a while. I'm sure they'll have it going again later, but right now, nope.

So, yeah, until later, have fun!
