Phwew! IT IS FINISHED!!
Siblings: Bubble Trouble, was completed and six copies of the DVD were shipped on September 1'st, at 4:18 P.M., just 12 minutes short of the deadline.
I think we came in close.
Looking at the insane amount of work we got done in the last four or five days, I'm completely sure that God did indeed give us 'Length of Days' to complete this film.
I got a very nice email today from the San An film fest, saying that the film has been received at their end, and we'll hear their decision on it by October 1'st, just 18 days before I get a year older.
Weird.
These deadlines and dates flash by very quickly. :-D
Sadly, the Siblings DVD may not be available for another month, because I will be extremely busy. Also, the costs of producing DVD's are scaring me, since I spent every penny to my name ('cept whats be in me savings account lads) in the process of buying equipment and music to create the film.
I'm broke.
Oh well.
It's all good though!
Well, I must go to sleep, and get some rest. We didn't sleep at all the night of August 31'st, and on the 30'th, I barely slept at all.
Been craaaaaazy.
The DVD will hopefully have a bunch of fun features. I'll name a few ideas I've had, though I'm not really sure if any or all of them will make it to the disc.
+ FX documentary. David detailing some of the work he did on various things.
+ Siblings abuse documentary. The kids detailing what a mean director I am, and real clips of me screaming at them to quit screwing around. ;-) That probably won't make it, but ya know. Jordan and Derek will certainly get a copy of that. ;-)
+ Mr. Tom Russell's unedited preaching. Some of the preaching that was cut to shorten the film might be available to watch on the disc. It's incoherent and wobbly cause I was moving the camera a lot, so this might be left out.
+ Actors Commentary. Gator talking about different parts of the film he liked. ;-)
+ Preacher's Commentary. Tom Russell doing a commentary about certain philosophical and theological elements that weren't covered in great detail over the course of the film.
+ Directors Commentary. David and I talking about the creation of the film, and different things we like to do.
+ A Parents Commentary. Dale and Anna Heustis, and my Parents, talking about their thoughts on the film. There might be a few pauses here and there, but we'd work something out. We could always loop Dad saying 'And Uh' a few times. (inside joke. Get it, David?)
+ A 'Bloopers and Best Moments' reel from Siblings 2.
Certainly on the DVD I'm going to try to put,
+ Siblings 1, the re-cut version. Slightly cut down in time, and with a few different things fixed. Not a lot, just one or two very minor things to fix it up a little bit.
- A Directors Commentary on Siblings 1.
- A 'Best Moments' reel from the set of Siblings 1.
- A short FX documentary detailing how the 'Bullet Time Water balloon' shot was done.
That's a lot of stuff though.
Actually, if yawl'd be helpful and tell me what you want, I'd really appreciate it. I'll try to cater to opinions.
The DVD will probably also be available on the site for 5 bucks, or something high enough to cover the materials for the DVD, etc. And hey, something to cover other things that happened on set are good too.
Well, I must go to bed.
It calls me.
In other news, Alan Silvestri is a genius. I love the music he composed for Van Helsing. Never saw the movie. I heard it was pretty awful, but hey, the music is awesome, if you like battle music.
Well, have a good time folks!
Goodnight, God Bless!
