Back from Virginia.

Recently returned from a week long trip to Virginia; Glorious it was, to be at the 400'th anniversary of the founding of America as a Christian nation. Incredible teaching, and incredible coworkers.

First off, I was given the offer by the Powers family to fly half way, meeting them in Georgia, then driving the remaining distance with them, thus gaining the benefits of fellowship, and getting straight to their hotel, where I would be staying.

The ride was a true joy, ending with a nice dinner at Uno's, then a relaxing night's rest before work began the next day.

Upon hitting the beach, where the re-enactment of the first landing took place, I met up with my boss.

The hat just commands respect, doesn't it? That sheet of paper contained instructions, phone numbers, labeling systems, and a few traveling directions, as I recall. Isaac Botkin was giving me the basic rundown of the operation.

The next day, the fun began, as I was given the task of following the Powers family (on a treasure hunt) accross colonial Williamsburg with a Canon XL-H1. Nice camera, but a bit heavy after 11 hours of continously roaming around on foot. Here Mike asks the re-enactor some questions about the location of a 'sunken garden'.

Even here, you can see that I was getting tired, and doing my cowboy swagger. It's an interesting walk, which looks best in photographs. Mike was a great sleuth, and his Mother was a persistent helper.

By the end of the trip, I had aquired the 'deer in the headlights' look, and rightfully so. I was very, very tired. Averaging about 3.5 hours of sleep a night, I wasn't used to the schedule of the warrior-like videography teams run by Nathaniel Darnell and Isaac Botkin. Tough men, they are.

But here I am, safe and sound, working with my friends Johnny Reighard and David Heustis on the animated storyboards for our next film 'Siblings 3: (working title not yet given)'

Prayers are much appreciated. :-)
