I'm back in Texas!
I'm back in Texas, and it's nice to be out of the liberal air. My last stops involved Colorado, which is liberal enough, but then California, which almost choked me, with only a brief stop in Arizona for some fresh conservative gun toting air.
Fortunately, during my stay in California, I got to spend a great deal of time with good friends, Greg and Angela Coates, who are both homeschooled and conservative. For example, Angela hates cats, and Greg can't talk for more than five minutes without mentioning a 12 gauge shotgun. I felt at home...
I hear Greg is deadly with a shotgun too, in a good way. ;-)
While there, I watched Signs, starring Mel Gibson. It was an interesting movie, with an interesting plot and interesting moral point. I didn't think it was as good as I expected, but it was very good. Too much language for a film of that nature though. Then, I watched The Village. That was lousy, except for the scene where that one guy is talking to that one girl, about leading. It was a great scene, but the movie contradicted what he said, so it was ruined.
After hanging out with Larry, Susan, Greg, and Angela, I went to 'Salvation Mountain' (which Leonard calls 'God is Love Mountain', accurately insisting that salvation comes only by Jesus Christ, not by the mountain).
Salvation mountain is next to a military bombing range. Yeah baby. I loved it. About three in the morning, a flash of light, a thundering sound, and a rush of wind, combined together to wake Dad up enough that he stopped snoring in the tent. ;-)
More on that from the link below. Streaming WMV, anyone?

It's five megs, so it's an easy download. We found that thing laying outside on the ground. Beautiful...
And in other news, some pictures of Leonard's place. Below is the mountain, as of February 3'rd, 2005.

And Leonards Mailbox. Click either picture to see a larger version. If you want the full resolution version, email me, and I'll get it to you. :-)
