Hibernation.

The Alaskan boy moves to Texas, and becomes acclimated. No big deal, right?

But then winter hits. And in Texas, winters are humid. Humidity supercharges the cold, making it nearly as bad if not worse than Alaska's arid climate. So the Alaskan boy hibernates in his cave, listening to Doug Phillips and Bill Einwechter, venturing out only to hear God's word preached by Pastor Bacon.

However, come February, the harshest of the Texas cold spell is over, and the hibernating boy awakens.

Hello everybody! I hope I wasn't missed...

Watched Chronicles of Narnia (the new one by Walden Media) while hibernating in my hole. I almost expected to thoroughly enjoy it, after all the rave reviews I'd heard.

Unfortunately, I was severely disappointed. While Harry Gregson Williams produced a marvelous score (at least in sections), the rest of the film was disappointing. I dare say the music and the CG lion were the only good parts of the film. And the fake snow.

My problem with the film was not the fantasy elements, but the poor rendition of the reality elements. Siblings constantly at war with each other, filled with disrespect for one another. No repentance on the part of the rascal (Edmund... I think), and the adults are all either fools or they aren't present. This last point, the ghost adults, made me reflect a bit on Bubble Trouble. Did we effectively portray the parents as being ever present and directing the lives of the Moore children? Did I portray Dad as the firm yet warm leader of his family, or a typical secular father who leaves home in the morning and returns at night, with little to no interaction with his family?

Thinking back on this, I wish I had handled that element of the story better. How can I fix this?

The current best option is Siblings 3.

At any rate, Chronicles of Narnia made it's way from the bargain bin to the trash bin. Other films have as well, but Chronicles of Narnia was the most notable.

Have yawl thrown away movies before? Which ones? What about Books?

I've thrown away books too. The Left Behind books most notably.
